WP.org or .com, domain name??

I have a blog on wp.com, love the theme, support etc. I just signed up w/AN hosting, mainly to register my domain name. Here’s my question…I would like people to be able to go straight to http://www.littlebrotherforum.com, but would like to stay w/WP.com (I know nothing about setting up my own web anything!). Can I do this? I’ve looked and looked at WP.org and I’m just not ready to manage the blog myself. Thanks for your help. I love WP!

Just sign up for the Domain mapping. It’s $10 a year since you already have your domain purchased. When you’re logged into your wp.com blog, it’s Dashboard -> Upgrades -> Domain. make sure you repoint the domain to use wordpress’s nameservers before you start though.

FAQ on the subject just for reference.

    Hope this helps,

Dumb question #2…how do I ‘”repoint domain…” before I start???

Also, when I do this, is there any reason or advantage to keeping AN – the web host?

    Thanks, you’re awesome!

Go to your domain registar and look for an option to modify your nameservers. Instead of them using dns1.anhosting.com and dns2.anhosting.com, have them use the nameservers listed in that FAQ I pointed you at.
