WP’s audio player not functional?
-
I tried using the built-in audio player with the following code that’s supposed to work:
[audio http://www.theframelocker/freebies/TooManyBells.mp3%5D
The player appears, goes through the connecting process, then buffering…, and then nothing. It doesn’t play the MP3. I worked around this by not using the player, instead embedding the link inside a graphic, but the big question is why the little player isn’t working. I searched for answers both here and in support but found nothing.

It’s definitely the correct. I just went into my site and copied the URL to make sure, and this is what I copied: http://www.theframelocker.com/Freebies/TooManyBells.mp3
That said, I clicked on the live link above and got what you got: nada. Then I thought it might be the lowercase “f” in “freebies,” so I tested the link with the one I just copied, but again there was nothing.
What’s weird is that I can use the link inside a graphic and it works perfectly, though it brings up Windows Media Player for lack of any other player.
There’s some tiny little gotcha in there, but I can’t figure it out.

Oh, for goodness sake! The dot com is missing!
Now that’s a gotcha if I ever saw one. :-)

When I copied-pasted the URL without the .com in my browser, it automatically added .com, but it was still wrong because it said “freebies” instead of “Freebies” (URLs are sometimes case-sensitive).
Well, I guess that solved your problem.

Problem definitely solved. It’s often the dumb stuff we trip over.
Thanks for taking a look at it. If you hadn’t, I doubt I would have noticed the missing part. I also wouldn’t have remembered that, yes, it’s very case-sensitive at my site–probably because it’s Linux.
