  Hi, I am finding it difficult to begin a post…how do I write a post? There is nothing that lets me write a simple post.
  I don’t even know if I have a blog.

  You don’t.

  Click on the My Sites link in the grey admin bar, go to All My Sites, and click to register a new site.

  Then go through http://learn.wordpress.com to get the basics.
