Writing a standalone web service

    Hello,
Recently I have been tasked with writing an AMF service for wordpress. I am new to wordpress so I might be overlooking the obvious. After spending a day trying to get wordpress to play nice, I decided it was time to ask the forums. Basically what I am looking to do is get wordpress to a point where I can call funcitons like wp_create_category, wp_insert_post, wp_update_post and the like. My problem is, I have been unable to do so thus far. Do any of you have an example of a simple php class initializing then calling a simple wordpress function?

    To clarify:
This class will not be running under the worpress umbrella, it will be a stand alone file that will accept requests and call data services on wordpress.

    Thanks in advance,
    Joe

Sorry, you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.

If you do not know the difference, see this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .
