Writing and Publishing Problems

For some reason when I write an article and then space it out properly it looks good but when I publish spacing is messed up. It makes article hard to read and I have tried doing it again but the same thing happens. Very frustrating. Please help. Thank you.

Hi, could you send a link to the page you’re having trouble with?

Thanks, I can see you’re using the Classic Editor to create your posts. I would encourage you to try the new Block Editor that would allow you more control over the formatting of your posts. Have a look here:

Here you can learn how to get the best out of the editor:

Let me know if you have any more questions regarding that.

Hi Fresatomica,
It was my plan to upgrade but wanted to get the feel of posting and set-up first. I am new to WordPress and not that computer savy. Find it confusing that the first few posts were fine and then employing the same methods the posts are not.
If I upgrade Block Editor will be initalized automatically?

You don’t need to upgrade to use the block editor. When you have a post or page open in the editing view, click on the gear icon from the upper right corner of the screen. Towards the bottom you should see the option to switch the editor. If you don’t see that write back to us here.

I have another question. Is it possible to post an article and include multiple images with that post? At present I only seem to be able to add ‘1’ image being the feature image.

Hi there,

Yes, you should definitely be able to add multiple images to your post:

Take a look at our support page and let me know if you have any questions in adding additional images.
Thanks,

Experiencing a new problem. Not sure why all the sudden. Yesterday went to write and publish a piece that had the following …
1. Age/Location: This contest is open to adults and youth of all ages residing in Ontario. There are some age requirement stipulations to make note of regarding submitting entries for this contest. Please see rule number 6.
2. Entry Fee: There is ‘No Entry Fee’ and ‘No Purchase Necessary’ to enter this contest.
3. Eligibility Format: To be eligible for this contest you will need to create ‘1’ collage rock and submit a photo of it. Each person can submit a maximum of ‘2’ collage rock entries. When I attempt to put space between (using block editor) each numbered point out it changes the number sequence and I cannot fix it. Eg below.

I deleted it. Will re-post it. What I don’t understand is why previous posts with the same set-up have not been problematic in this way.

So, it is not really possible to add spaces between the list items as this is the default styling, however, I might have found a workaround for you.
Add each item as a new List Block. Just one item per list. You will notice that each new list will start from the number 1, however, you can change it in the block settings on the right sidebar.
Right there you will seeOrdered list settings:You can then type the number that you want that item to have.
It is not ideal but it should help you achieve the look you wanted :) -

If you copy-pasted the list from somewhere, the HTML formatting was probably copied as well. I have not suggested changing the HTML as it can be very confusing but, if the workaround I suggested is not working for you, let me know and I’ll try to explain.

I ending up removing numbers, doing spacing and adding numbers back in. Worked still doesn’t make sense why I am having this problem now having doing the same numbered list before. Anyway, thank you!
