Hi there,
Do you edit the caption and click update within the pop-up image editor as shown here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/#within-postsAnd then when that’s done, do you also update the entire post?
-
yes, and have tried on my lap top and computer … have has this issue before and then one day it just worked but it has been a few days this time, very frustrating!
-
Can you please try the exact same thing in an alternate browser, such as Chrome or Firefox and let me know if it works for you there? That would help us narrow down a possible browser-related issue.

Ok, is this step-by-step what you’re doing?
1. Edit https://aprilphillipsfootwear.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=727&action=edit
2. Click on the edit image button in the picture of the shoes.
3. Change the caption from ‘blah’ to ‘blah’
4. Click the update button in the bottom of the pop-up image editor: https://cloudup.com/cVKoE31uFGv
5. See that the caption has changed in the post.
6. Click the blue Update button to re-publish the post: https://cloudup.com/cGMYdzWf4jC
7. Get a notification at the top of the screen that the post has been updated.
8. Load your blog – the old caption still appears. If at some point in that process, you do or see something different that what I’ve described, can you let me know?
I just want to make sure we’re looking at the same things. :)

I am not updating a published post, but creating one: https://aprilphillipsfootwear.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=784&action=edit
after I update the caption, i click the update button, and do not see it on the post, after saving still cant see it.

Ah, I see. If you click over to the Text editor of that post, you’ll see your images are wrapped in h2 tags:
<h2><a href="http://aprilphillipsfootwear.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/walter-van-beirendonck-ss2012-b.jpg"><img class=" wp-image-800 " title="Walter-van-Beirendonck-SS2012" alt="Walter-van-Beirendonck-SS2012-B" src="http://aprilphillipsfootwear.files.wordpress.com/2014/01/walter-van-beirendonck-ss2012-b.jpg" width="1682" height="3543" /></a></h2>That’s what stopping the caption from setting. You need to remove the h2 tags. Do you copy and paste your posts from elsewhere? I notice a lot of unnecessary HTML in there, and so if you paste, use the Paste as Plain Text button:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#pasting-textThat will strip out any HTML that’s getting in by accident and messing up your formatting. :)

wow awesome thanks…worked for the first image but cant see the tag in the second in text, can you see it in the other images too?
The images were from my computer emailed from the designer, how would it have got in there?
just wondering if it may be easier to remove all images and put them back in … but if this is what happened last time it will again? This is the way I have always done it so i am a bit confused :/

Try removing all those div tags that are in there – the div tags surrounding your image might also be messing with the caption.
The HTML didn’t come from the image itself. It looks like you’re using the heading font style to style your headings – which is totally fine – but somehow those heading tags got wrapped around an image in addition to the heading. This can happen if your cursor is right next to the heading when you insert the image, or if you drag your images around after inserting them.
The trick is just to keep an eye on how your HTML looks in the text editor. It should be very simple and clean. I’m not really sure how all those div tags got in there.
If you still can’t get the captions to show up for the other images once the div tags are gone, let me know and I’ll poke at it a bit more. :)
