Writing in Arabic and French
-
Good-morning. In Morocco, as well in all North Africa countries, we write posts both in French and in Arabic. Writing in french is from left to right, and in Arabic it is from right to left (like Hebrew writing). So we often have surprises. Because the direction (or orientation, or sens) of Arabic letters change, or reverse, or change from ‘right to left’, to ‘left to right’. Especially at the latest letters of the paragraphs. Please, can examine, or check, or revise this problem ? You can find examples in my own blog, named : ”LivresChauds.Wordpress.Com”
My e-mail is : (email visible only to moderators and staff)
Thank you very much for all you do.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
Do you have a specific article with some issues? If so, what is not displayed correctly, and how should it be?
I’m looking at https://livreschauds.wordpress.com/2014/06/03/pourquoi-christine-daure-serfati-merite-la-consideration-du-peuple-marocain/
The French part is left-aligned, and the Arabic part is right-aligned, isn’t it the way it’s suppose to be?

Good morning. I have explain the problems I meet when writing Arabic in WordPress. And I used pictures (=4 small captures of screen) to explain the difficulties. But When I insert my answer here in the Forum, I see that pictures disappear, and only text remain. I don’t know haw to perform this. Therefore, I am searching another way to send you my explanations (including these 4 pictures). Thank you very much.

Hello,
The forum only accepts text. For the pictures, could you upload them to your Media Library, and then post the links here?
You can access the Media Library here https://livreschauds.wordpress.com/wp-admin/upload.php?mode=list
Once the picture is uploaded, you can click on View or on the picture to get the information for the URL. -

Nice! Your PDF gave a very clear description of the issues.
I can’t help any further here, so let’s wait for a WordPress staff to weigh in on the issues. -
Thank you very much. I understand that the solution of the issues require a time. Many thanks for all the WordPress staff.

After WordPress.Com have received my message PDF (showing the issues), please can I ask WordPress.Com to erase the URL contained in my fourth answer sent to the Forum, because the URL include a personal security problem. Thank you very much.

Hi!
Thanks for such a detailed report. This really helps to track down the issue. Also, I’ve removed the link to the document from your previous post. Please feel free to delete the media item from your site as well.
You mentioned copying and pasting from Microsoft Word. Do you notice any issues when you right directly into the WordPress.com Editor? Also, before you paste into the WordPress.com Editor, could you try using the Paste as Plain Text button described here?
Since you specifically mention copying and pasting from another app, I’m wondering if this might be causing the issue.

Good morning. Here is the link of my second letter in which I explain the issues, as you have asked. Conclusion : The problems of writing Arabic in Wordpess.Com are not caused by other application.
Thank you. -

Thanks so much for the detailed report! This helps a tremendous amount. I’m digging into this issue to see what I can find out/why this might not be working correctly. I’ll get back to you as soon as I know more!

Hi @livreschauds,
First, can you let me know what language your browser is in? In Chrome, you can find this under Chrome -> Preferences -> Advanced Settings -> Languages.
Also, it looks like you’re using the text alignment buttons to create the Right to Left text direction. Instead of doing that, can you right click within the Text Editor and select “Right to Left” under Writing Direction as shown here?
I did some testing, and the majority of these issues seem to clear up when that option is selected.
