Writing multiple blogs with same login username BUT different public name

OK, the topic title might be quite confusing.

Here is the thing: I want to create 3 different blogs. What I want is to log in to WP using just ONE username but show publicly THREE different names. This is how it would work. I want Blog 1 to show me as author with name X, Blog 2 with name Y, and Blog 3 with name Z. I do not want people who read Blog 1 know that I am also the author of Blog 2 and 3 and vice versa. But I do not want to have three different login usernames in order to access the control panel.

And the question is, would that be possible?

I understand what you are saying. The answer is that this is not possible here at WordPress.com.

When we register a username account here the email address we provide becomes our unique identifier. When we are logged into WordPress.com and register a blog it’s registered to that username account we are logged in under and to the email address which is our unique identifier. We can register as many blogs as we wish and provided we are using the same username account then all the blogs will be registered under it and the associated email account. We can change our “display name” but that display name will appear on all blogs registered under the same username account.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-address/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/#change-display-name-nickname

In order to completely separate the blogs that you do not want to be associated with each other you register another username account using a different email address when you are logged out of WordPress.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/ Then you add the new username account as an official user of the blog, and designate them (ie. you) as an Admin. Next you transfer one of the blogs to the new username account using this process. http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

    Hi,
Thanks for the response. Here is my situation: I created BlogABC using my existing UserName (under which I have many other blogs). I want to create a new user “BlogABC” but wordpress says “that username is not available” (presumable because it has reserved that username at the same time I created a blog with that name).
The question I have is: How do I create a username that is the same as a blog I created under another username?
    Thanks!

    @prash
When we register a username account the matching blog is reserved for our future use. It cannot be obtained by anyone other than the person who has registered the matching username. I have flagged this thread for Staff attention so you can register the reserved blog.

Thanks – actually my situation is the reverse – I have the blogB (under my existing usernameA). Now I need the username “blogB” to match the blogB :) (Hope I am being clear!)
Once I have the username “blogB” I could make that user an Editor or Admin and therefore have that name appear as Author on blogB which is all I (and the originator of this thread) are trying to do…

I’m so sorry. I guess I’m not fully awake and I apologize. That’s not possible.

See hate macmanx (Staff) says here:

Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5#post-694997

edit: “hate” was meant to be “what”
Maybe I ought to go back to bed. :(

Oh man! Not even with help from WordPress support? This would be a common request I’d think…
