How do I have just a summery of my posts and not the whole written article to appear on my page? I have gone to the dashboard settings and ticked the box ‘show summery’ but still the whole article is displayed?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As for the summary setting:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/reading-settings/
It determines how you post look via RSS feeds. For each article in a feed you can select Full text or Summary. Full text means that the entire contents of a post are included in the feed. Summary means that only the first 55 words are included in the feed.
Which option to use is a matter of some debate. Take a look at Problogger’s view and that of Feedster for some more information.
Note that this setting also affects what users receive in their email subscriptions.

That’s only for the RSS feed. YOu either have to use a theme that does that automatically or you have to use the Read More button. In the editor, put the cursor where you want the break to be (put it on its own line) and then click the dotted line icon, I think it’s number 13.
