Spell check underlines all words after copy paste, although it is correct english. How can I avoid this?

    Hi Erica,

The Proofreader can sometimes be a bit aggressive on what it thinks should be adjusted; not only grammar, but also things like clichés and redundant phrases.

Whether you type the content or copy+paste it in, the proofreader should still behave the same. If you’re experiencing different behavior with copy+paste, could you please take a screenshot of it so I can see what’s happening?

If you’d simply like to have proofreader stop checking as often, you can adjust a number of its settings in your Personal Settings (found under “Users” in your dashboard.) Here’s a guide on what you can adjust:

    Dear Alex,

Thanks for your advice. Today working from another computer with an English set up (control system?) the proof reader seems to work fine. The red underlining has disappeared.

My private computer set up is “dutch” could this be the cause that nearly all words were underlined?

    Best regards,
    Erica

    Hi Erica,

I do believe you’ve found the cause!

Since your interface language is set to English, proofreader is probably picking up the discrepancy between being given what is technically Dutch from your keyboard and the English it’s expecting.

If you’d like to test this out, you can change the language Windows expects from your Keyboard in the “Region and Language” settings.

    Best,

    -Alex G.
