Wrong Account Email

  When I made my account, I missed a letter when typing my email address. Now the site won’t let me fix it.

  If you’re able to log in to your account, you should be able to change your email address here: https://wordpress.com/me/account

  If you attempt to change your email address and find that it never updates after saving the changes, the issue is usually simple. The email address you are attempting to use is probably associated with another WordPress.com account. Because each address can only be associated with one WordPress.com account, it will not allow you to use the same email again.

  The solution is also easy. You can use a different email address that is not already in use, or you can log in to the account currently using your desired email address and change it to something else. Once changed, you can then reuse the email on a different account.

  If you requested the change but did not receive the email confirmation to finalize it (or the confirmation did not work), please contact Support.

  I tried adding the missing letter, and I tried using different email addresses. Each time, I get “There was a problem saving your changes.”

  Hi @realdealholloway,

  Sometimes that means you already have an account under that email address. Do you want to just go ahead and reset the password for that instead?

  You could also log into the old account, change its email address to something else, then log into this one and change it to your preferred address. Let me know if you have more questions.
