Wrong Blog URL given, I want to cancel it

    I want to cancel my blog URL because it isn’t the same as what I thought I had signed up to. I haven’t been sent a cancelation email. How do I change this?

    What is not the same please?
    Are you referring to the URL?
    If so they can be changed but more to the point is that when you fail to register an underlying .wordpress.com first (any .wordpress.com URL if does not have to match) and then try to purchase a domain the software has to provide a .wordpress.com URL for you to map from to the domain URL that you want to buy.

    Were you trying to register https://livingcreative.me/? I ask because it has not been registered and I suspect that you failed to register an underlying .wordpress.com blog first and the software supplied http://livingcreativedotme.wordpress.com/

    In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com sub domain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.

    You must be logged in as Admin and follow these directions if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

    After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

    Hi there,

    I see you just purchased the domain name ilivcreative.com. Is that the domain you want to cancel?

    Please keep in mind that canceling a domain means you give up ownership of that domain name. The domain name may not be released immediately, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to register it again in the future, so only cancel it if it’s definitely the wrong domain name and you don’t want to use it at all.

    If you’re sure you want to cancel it, please let me know and I can take care of that for you. I can either give you a full refund or I can give you credit so you can purchase a different domain name for your site.

    Hi there,
    Thank you (both of you) for your advise. I think I was being very stupid and clearly a brand new blogger! I have paid for the ilivcreative and it’s now working fine.
