Wrong email address

  Hi, I accidentally used an old email address when I set up my account. Now I cannot verify my account but I have already paid for my domain name to be mapped! Is there anythingI can do or do I just have to abandon the account and lose my £11?

  Just to clarify: it seems that in order to change my email address, you send an email to the OLD email address and ask me to confirm the change.

  Unfortunately because the old email address does not work, that means I am unable to get that email.

  There is a single email address that can be used on only one username account and not on any others, regardless of how many blogs are registered under that username account. The blog’s owner can change the relevant email address on their accounts page at https://wordpress.com/me/account

  Timethief, I know all that – that’s why I added the second post.

  The problem is that I cannot access the old email address in any way. It belongs to a website that is closed down.

  Hi, Dorothy!

  In fact, we’ll send the confirmation link to your new email address, not to the old one.

  Once you’ve entered a new email address and clicked “Save Account Settings,” you’ll receive an email at the new address with a confirmation link. You must click the confirmation link to confirm the change and update the email on your account.

  Change Your Email Address

  So, you can access the screen Profile > Account Settings and insert the correct email address.
