Wrong email from contact form

  • Unknown's avatar

I added a contact form to my blog. Soon after I changed my email address in the WordPress settings. Unfortunately the emails from my contact form have not moved over to the new email address, I’m still getting them at the old one. What do I need to do to fix this?

    Thanks!

  • Can you try deleting the page that currently holds the contact form and add it again?

Would it work to (1) remove the contact form, (2) save the page, (3) add back the contact form?

  • I would recommend simply re-publishing the page, as the contact form will go the e-mail address of the author of the page; if something is stuck, however, and it is still thinking to send the submissions to the old e-mail address, this could be the issue.

Alright, I just tried removing the contact form, saving the page, then re-adding it, and this did not work. I confirmed the emails are still going to the wrong place.

It also looks like my email itself in settings is bugged – I have just tried to change it several times, and it doesn’t accept the change, just bounces back to the current email no matter what I do. This is getting stranger and stranger.

Well scratch that last part – it’s not bugged. Anyway, I have also now tried deleting the entire page, and adding a new page. It also did not correct the problem.

Well I finally fixed it – I guess it was just a misunderstanding on my part – I had thought that the contact form worked off the admin email listed under my blog settings, but instead it worked off the email in my username settings, which was still set to the old one.

That is good to know. Thanks for sharing what worked.
