Wrong images shared on Facebook

Hi there! My name is Ashleigh and I am a stumped newbie.

    My issue is:

When I share a blogpost on Facebook, it grabs the wrong image.

So far I have ran it through the debugger tool, cleared my browser history, I think this is what cache means. From the debugger tool, it lets me know all the following errors…

The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘og:url’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘og:title’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘og:description’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

The ‘fb:app_id’ property should be explicitly provided, Specify the app ID so that stories shared to Facebook will be properly attributed to the app. Alternatively, app_id can be set in url when open the share dialog.

I followed a tutorial on how to add the Facebook app ID. I’ve googled how to change the og:image tag over and over and over.

I’ve tried setting a feature page.
I’ve tried downing Open Graph for Facebook and set the image there.
I’ve tried setting it in Yoast.

I’ve tried putting some random add filter meta tag in the <head> of my page.

This issue didn’t start happening until I updated my wordpress theme last week. Before that, it always grabbed at least a picture from the post! Now it’s grabbing sidebar images.

I realize I’m not very educated in this yet, but I am so dedicated to learning it. I will put in all the work to do this, send me links, tutorials, videos, I don’t care! This is my business and my life. The work is worth it.

Thanks for your time. Back to hunting I go!
