When the blog posts on Facebook and Twitter, clicking the link to WordPress only gives the preview of the blog and not the blog site.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

What URL are you clicking that’s giving you the preview? Could you take some screenshots that show the problem and upload them to your blog’s media library?

    Take a Screenshot

You can add a link to the screenshot in your media library so I can see it.

    Thanks!

I just uploaded to screenshots to my media library. One is the view of my blog site as it should be when someone clicks a link to the blog site. The second is the one people see when they click on the link posted by WordPress when the blog is published. They only get the preview of the blog and not my blog site. I tried putting the link to the blog site in settings on the edit page and publish it. WordPress included my link and the one to the preview. I hope you can help me. The way it is now there is no need to publish it to Facebook or Twitter.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

The view that you would like to display is the homepage for your blog. The Facebook and Twitter links, however, are linking directly to the post that you are adding.

Just to be clear, this isn’t the ‘preview view’ it’s the permanent link to your post. So, for example, when your most recent post was published to Facebook and Twitter, it included the permanent link to that post:

    http://poormakingmanyrich.com/2013/01/30/fasting-and-repentance/

This way, if someone were to go backwards in your Facebook or Twitter feeds, they’d always get to the correct article. If the link that was published with your feed was just to your homepage,
http://poormakingmanyrich.com, then someone trying to access an older post would have a hard time because they’d get to your homepage and only see the most recent stuff.

    Does that answer your question?

    Best!

I look at a lot of blogs that are WordPress as well as others, and I always see their blog on their home page. Is there any way I can get the link of Facebook and Twitter to go to my home page? From the home page they could look at the other blogs. I am planning to upgrade to premium soon, and I would like for the link to be to the home page.

Thank you very much for the prompt way you have responded to my request and the the answers you have given me.

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, that’s not the way the Publicize feature is designed. It’s designed to send a link to your latest post to your Facebook/Twitter/Other accounts.

As a side note, anyone who gets to one of your posts from these links can get to your homepage by clicking on your header.

    Best!
