Wrong masonry on mobile
-
Hello there,
I am absolutely new to building my own website.
I prefer the Baskerville 2 theme (https://wordpress.com/theme/baskerville-2) because of the masonry effect of posts.
The desktop version looks alright with 3 columns. Unfortunately, this style is also displayed on mobile (my iPhone 8).
How and where can I modify the code so that there appears 1 column on smartphones only?
Many thanks for your support.
Kind regards,

Hello!
it looks like you have some replies from your post in the WordPress.org Baskerville support forum:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wrong-masonry-on-mobile-2/This forum supports sites hosted on WordPress.com where your site is hosted at Hetzner Online, so posting in the theme’s WordPress.org support forum was the right idea.
Going forward, you can find general WordPress help for sites like yours at the WordPress.org support forums.

Hi Sebastian,
Baskerville 2 is fully responsive and when viewed on a mobile phone all posts are arranged into a single column.
The same thing happens when I view your site abhaengige-gebiete.de on a mobile phone.
If you’re seeing something different please grab a screenshot and share it here so I can have a look. You can quickly take a screenshot by using an online tool like https://snipboard.io/

Hi @fstat,
Many thanks for your reply.
Here is a screenshot of the sample masonry page of American Samoa:

There are 3 columns next to each other on the category masonry page. But on mobile I only want one … 😄

Hi there,
That’s not an issue with the theme but rather with the block you are using.
Baskerville was designed before the new Block editor and therefore it doesn’t fully support it.
If you want to find another column block that’s more mobile-friendly is recommend posting in the WordPress.org support forums:

Hi,
What do you mean by „block“?
I am using the Elementor page builder and the Baskerville 2 (not Baskerville or Baskerville 1).
The guys from the WordPress.org forum directed me to this forum …

Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted elsewhere.
Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can find more information here about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
https://wordpress.org/support/ is a great resource for sites using the open source WordPress.org software, and you can find support for that at: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
And, you can find support for Elementor at https://elementor.com/support/
