Wrong purchase
-
Hello,
Today I bought an subscription to WordPress, but later on I recognized that WordPress’-Package was not completely what I was searching for. We saw that we can make an refund of our purchase within 30 days..
But now comes the real question, how long will it take before the domain is not registered again, so I can purchase it on my desired hosting-service?
I hope that you can help me!
Thanks in advance,
Rik Verstegen

You can get a partial refund and retain the URL and then do this: Move Your Domain to Another Host – Change name servers to point the domain outside of WordPress.com https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/#change-name-servers-to-point-the-domain-outside-of-wordpress-com

There are time limitations for requesting and receiving refunds.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/refunds/WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard, cancel any upgrades, claim a refund for any qualified upgrades, and disable auto-renew. Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades

It can take a few weeks for the registrar to release a domain into the pool of available domains again. And there is a slight risk that they never do so or that someone else snatches it up before it is made available.
Generally, it is better to use these instructions to point your domain to a new webhost:
And/or use these instructions to transfer to a new domain registrar (once 60 days has passed from registration):
