wrong re-addressing to an unexisting host – lost wp access
-
My son can’t login the original access to Albatros (web: http://albatrospalestra.it) after mistakingly attempting a host change to the unregistered URL http://chongwontaekwondoacademy.it. It seems he could have also reset his password. We don’t know which email address is associated to Albatros. So we have no way to get a password recovery. The wp account (and presumably the contact email) is managed by the host https://it.siteground.com/ for my sister (email visible only to moderators and staff), to whom you are welcomed to send your support.
WP.com: Unknown
Jetpack: Unknown
Correct account: UnknownThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! Your site is not hosted with WordPress.com but instead a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org ) but hosted at SiteGround.
We cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so WordPress.com staff can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. But, I can get you pointed in the right direction.
You should reach out to your host SiteGround for help with this issue. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you with this issue.
All they would need to do is revert the URL change back to your original domain and that should fix things. They can also help reset any user account passwords as well.
I hope that helps!

Thank you csonnek. I asked the same to wordpress.org support.
Anyway, the original site was hosted in wordpress.com, and the username “Albatros” is recognized as existing both in .com and .org. Whereas the user’s email address is not associated with either. -
Hi there,
To clarify, wordpress.org is the home of the open source (free) WordPress software.
We do use a custom version of that software here to provide managed WordPress-specific site hosting so that you do not need to find your own host and install the software by yourself.
However, this also means that the two systems are separate. Logins that you have with a self-hosted WordPress site (aka: .org site) do not work on WordPress.com and vice versa. If you are having trouble accessing a site that you have hosted on Siteground, we are not able to help with that.
The good news is that they are able to help you, and you can reach Siteground support here so they can assist with regaining access to your site: https://www.siteground.com/support
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
