Wrong Stats

Hi, I’ve been having several problems with the stats of my site since the last days of november, where suddenly my visits dropped from 60/day to 2 or 3/day, but you told me that the search engines where the problem. Today (Jan 7-2015) I search my stants at 10 am and I only had 1 Visit from spain. I refresh it 5 hours latter, after I visit my blog (several posts) from another computer in Argentina, but he Stats Counter stayed still. I ask a friend from singapur, other friend from Mexico, and Chile to do the same, but the counter is still in 1 visit.
Please let me know why o how offer you refresh the counter, or what is going on!
    thanks

    Hi there,

Stats are not updated in real-time and typically are settled after 24 hours.

I refresh it 5 hours latter, after I visit my blog (several posts) from another computer in Argentina, but he Stats Counter stayed still.

Even if you’re on another computer or networking through another IP address, if you are logged into your WordPress.com account, the visits will not be registered into your stats.

There are a few other ways that visits will not be entered into your stats, explained at the beginning of this article:

    Hi Alex,

When i said that I tried to enter the blog from another computer ‘of course’ i tried from a different network and not logged in my account, I did that with iExplorer 1 time, an another with Firefox.
Then I asked a friend from Ecuador, and she tried also from her country, with iExplorer from her corporate network once, and another time from starbuks WiFi. The last example, was a 2nd friend that lives in Singapur and I still (24 hours later) don’t see their visits. My friend from Singapur tried directly with my url (not by search engines) and the one from Ecuador tried from the url public on my FB fan page and by google. none of this examples are in the article that you shared with me.

    regards

    Hi Cecilia,

When a site visit is registered in your state, what happened is that a particular script loaded. All these scripts are loaded near the bottom of the page source (that way you know that if a pageview registered, the user did in fact load all the pages content.)

So in all the scenarios you mentioned, if they do not appear in your stats the reason must be that the script which captures the pageview did not load.

Typically, this happens when people browse in a way that blocks javascript. In extreme this cases it could browsers like Tor, but is more often ad-blocking extensions and the like.

It can even be as simple as a slow internet connection not loading all the resources on a page.

Would you mind visiting your site and taking screenshots of any Javascript errors, and also a run a Traceroute and save its content as described here:

    Advanced Browser Troubleshooting

Once you have the screenshot and text file for the javascript errors and traceroute, please upload them to your media library so we can take a look.
