Wrong Thumbnail in Publicized Facebook Post
-
Hi, when I publish a new blog post I tend to have it set to automatically publicize the post on my FB page. Typically the automated FB post captured and thumbnailed the first photo of my blog post, which is awesome. But for the past two weeks, instead of an image from my post, it’s been thumbnailing one of the pictures in my sidebar.
This has greatly affected the engagement on my FB page, as people are seeing a picture of yogurt instead of the recipe on my post! Has something changed in the coding? Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Here’s an example of an automated post with the unrelated thumbnail, from my sidebar: https://www.facebook.com/thedomesticman/posts/550270835041479

Unfortunately, we cannot assist you with this. When using Publicize, we have no control over the images that Facebook chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include. Okay, got it. Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully something happens on the FB side of things to fix it.

Funny, I had a similar issue on Reddit a year ago and I’m in the forum thread you linked to :)
