Hi,
after publish a new blog report I share this vis Twitter and Facebook.
In Twitter the entered title picture is shown with the blog report link. In the Facebook post I don’t see the title picture. There I see the first picture of the report.
hat do I wrong? Are there some settings for Facebook? Or is this a Facebook bug?
Thanks a lot.
Best regards

Howdy Ronny,
I tried to post share your post AOK APP WIRD UNTER DIE LUPE GENOMMENAnd it shared the first image AOK BONUS APP AOK TESTBERITCH
written on it.
Could you detail in it better so we could figure out how we can help you better.
Also here is some useful information how the facebook image works
https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/Let us know ahead and we can help you better.
Regards -
The Problem is that the first image is not the title image. In Twitter the title image (in this case the green AOK logo with text) is shown. In Facebook the picture with the table (grey background) is shown – bus it should be the same green icon as in Twitter.
I will have a look on the provided link.
Thanks a lot.

So, I tried something and hope to gibe you more information:
I have assigned a featured image – but this image is not shown when I publish a new blog post. If I share an existing post, the featured image is visible.
They these steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new post with /wp-admin and add 2 pictures
2. Set a different featured image
3. Set share with Facebook and Twitter
4. Publish the post
=> Twitter use the featured image
=> Facebook use the first image from the postI will try to set the featured image not in the /wp-admin screen for the next blog post – I think there is the bug. Then you login over the wordpress.com page and set the picture there, it may be right

Hi Ronny ,
I read your last post late. Yeah that may be possible , as wp-admin(black white ) and calypso (the blue -white interface) might be an bug. You could try it from wordrpess.com itself . And let us know if it works. Also I suggest start using the Calypso , (Blue-white interface) on wordpress.com as it would be a better idea considering the future.
Let us know if we can help you with anything else. -
Hi,
I have tested it now in the “normal” editor. The title picture is now correct. So there is a bug in the admin modus.
Hiw to reproduce the bug:
1. open the admin modus
2. create a blog report
3. add a title picture
4. add one picture in the report
5. select share in facebook
6. publish the report
=> the title picture is not usedIf the first step is “open the normal wordpress editor” the correct picture is shown.
Why I use the admin modus:
I use it, because in the normal mode all added pictures in the report are not clickable after publish the report. You can’t zoom the pictures. This is only possible in the admin modus picture settings. How can I use my blog in one view without bugs? May you fix the title picture bug? That would be great.
Thanks a lot.
Best regards

Hi Ronny ,
Thanks for reporting the details , appreciate your effort to detail it out. I will pass the information to the company and developers , and probably we could get the fixing done. I will tag them. Someone should revert us back soon. There is bug which could be resolved , needs improvement in the Calypso , in the above details where Ronny has mentioned the process , he mentions Admin Modus as WP-ADMIN and the normal WordPress editor as the Calypso , if the bug could be corrected would be great , let us know if you need any further analysis to get the bug. Hope its clear. Hope to hear soon.

Hi there,
This is not a bug, and has nothing to do with which editor you’re using. Instead, we simply don’t control the image that is displayed by Facebook if you share a link, as explained here:
All we can do is suggest to Facebook what image should be used, and that suggestion is in order, the featured image, any other image in the post, or your site’s blavatar/site icon. But Facebook ultimately decides which image to use.
Sometimes an image for a preview can become stuck in Facebook’s cache, in which case they’ll show an old image even for newer posts. If this happens you can try running the post’s URL through Facebook’s debugger, as explained on the above support document:
https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/sharing/
Note that this is not guaranteed to make a difference, as other factors like the size of the actual image you’re trying to use can prevent Facebook from using it. Specifically, an image smaller than 350 pixels wide cannot be used, so if your blavatar is smaller than that, and you have no image bigger than that in your post, Facebook won’t be able to use those images.

Hi,
thanks for the reply. I tested the publish share title picture with some posts. And now I think I got it ;)
The width from 350 is an option – but not in my case. Also the information from your links seems to be wrong.
Information:
At least 200×200 pixels in both width and height
Aspect ratio of width and height no greater than 3
But in my case, the aspect ratio is not greater than 3 or less than 200 px.The picture in my test case was 800 x 475 px and than: the title picture is not visible in the shared post. But if I debug it wwith your link, the correct title picture is shown.
So, there is a bug. But I don’t know if it is a facebook, a connection or a wordpress bug. Pictures with 800 x 480 px or higher were shown correct.
For me this topic is closed now, but I think someone must have a look at this. It is not correct as it is now.
Thanks for your help. Have a nice day.
Best regards.

Please don’t wonder – the last post was from my second-“test”-account.
Thanks for your help.

Without the link to the actual post you’re trying to share there is no way for me to check this, but as I said above, this is controlled on Facebook’s end. We only suggest to them which image to use. Their software decides what is actually shown.
The picture in my test case was 800 x 475 px and than: the title picture is not visible in the shared post. But if I debug it wwith your link, the correct title picture is shown.
That is exactly what the debugger does. It clears Facebook’s cache and forces Facebook to check for a different preview.

@kokkieh:
The problem is that you can’t test it with my links. If you share a post with a small picture all is correct.
But if you publish a new post – than I think the picture is wrong. Please test this on your (test) blog with my steps. Add a picture with 800×475 px as title picture and publish the report with share on Facebook. Is really complex, but I know you could do this 😉Thanks for the help. Now I know what I have to do.
Best regards. -
Facebook’s cache is linked to your site’s URL. Sharing a post via my site won’t show if there is a caching issue with your site’s URL. It doesn’t work like that.
This is just something that happens occasionally on Facebook’s end, and their tool is the only way to fix it.
