wrong URL

  starting out to get a theme picked, I must have mistyped the URL with the result that WordPress has the wrong URL. How do you change this. It was a typo.
  my site name is duskwriter.com but WordPress has it as, duskwritercom.wordpress.com Thank you

  Hi,

  Are you referring to your domain name (URL)? Did you already purchase a custom domain for your website? If not, when you purchase a custom domain you can choose to make your URL duskwriter.com if it’s available.

  If you would like to keep the free WordPress domain (URL), then you would go to your account settings and correct your URL in the “Web Address” area.

  Still not clear: I bought duskwriter.com from GoDaddy. I must have made a mistake in the screen I was in when I was trying to pick a theme from WordPress. Now WordPress is telling me that that url, duskwriter.com is taken. But it is mine!
  Should I cancel everything with WordPress and begin the whole thing again? Why does wordpress add wordpress to my url?
