wrong web addy in top web bar, another site won't open correctly.

  I created a new blog (lowryconstructionsc.com). I paid for the domain on 12/12 so we wouldn’t see the wordpress in the name. My primary blog/site is greytarticles.wordpress.com; that has not changed. For some reason the lowry address appears in the web bar when I open the greytarticles blog. I have set up other blogs but this has never happened before. If I type in lowryconstructionsc.wordpress.com in the web bar the lowry website will open – with the wordpress in the blog name. If I type lowryconstructionsc.com it only opens the greytarticles site. I have read about domains info but just don’t understand what to do to fix this. (I’m elderly and, sadly, my brain isn’t as sharp as it used to be.) Can you fix it so that my greytarticles site doesn’t show lowryconstructionsc.com in the web bar and make it so that lowryconstructionsc.com will open just that website? I have cleared the cache and cookies and signed into WP again. No change. Please help.

  Also need help with the greytarticles site so lowryconstructionsc.com doesn’t appear above greytarticles.wordpress.com.

  I resolved the addy in the web bar for greytarticles; greytarticles appears where it should up top. Still need help with getting to lowryconstructionsc.com. It still goes to greytarticles. Argh.

  No, that’s not what I want. See what I posted two posts above this. That’s what I *don’t* want. I want the Greytarticles as my primary site; it must appear in the web address bar. I am doing the lowry site as a favor to someone; the sites are not connected in any way. The lowry site has to have lowrysc in its web address bar. I bought a separate domain so that they would be completely separated and the lowry not having wordpress in the web address bar- or so I thought it would be.

  Back to the drawing board. There must be a way to do what I want….

  Aha, I shouldn’t have added a domain to my primary site. When I created the lowry site should I have purchased the $99 upgrade instead?

  Hi there,

  Thanks for the clarification. So, from my understanding you currently want two separate sites. Please note that the web address bar is where the URL (the address) of your site (content) is. The domain is just the address at which all your content can be found. So if you want a completely different site found at lowryconstructionsc.com you will have to create a brand new blog and transfer that domain to it. This would create two separate sites, one found at lowryconstructionsc.com and the other found at greytarticles.wordpress.com.

  If you want this new blog to be in the same account, just log into WordPress.com with your username/password and then go to My Blogs at the top of the page. Once you are there, a link to “Create Another Blog” will be on the left. Once you have created a new blog, I can transfer the domain: lowryconstructionsc.com to this new blog.

  If you want to create a brand new account. Log out of your account if you haven’t already and sign up for a new account with a different email address here:

  https://signup.wordpress.com/signup/

  Once you have create the new blog, please provide me the URL and I will transfer the domain to that site.

  As for your upgrades, I can easily transfer them to your new site/account if you wish. That won’t be a problem. :)

  The new site is created! (dlowryconstructionsc.com) I would love it if you would make it so that we can use lowryconstructionsc.com after all. I already paid for upgrades to the dlowry site so could I get a refund on that! Thanks so much for your help! BTW I used a different email address and password for the newest site, if that matters…..
