WTH… My blog already exists?!?

  I tried to create a blog, but was told that is exists already. When I tried to access the blog, it says that it was deleted. Now I have had my blog on Blogger for years, and if do move my blogs to WordPress I want retain my site names.

  If I cannot retain the names of the blogs I have had for years then moving serves NO point. Can anyone help me or does renaming EVERYTHING the only option for me. If so, then I guess I will just have to choose another server for blogs.

  I originally thought about WordPress for the more open nature of the engine.

  Perhaps you could bypass that by adding a “The” in front of your blog name? Search engines will ignore the “The”…

  Perhaps you opened that WP blog yourself years ago? I tested a few systems before WP and I have already forgotten all about them. If you can find that WP blog with your blog name you can test the log in by submitting your (old/former?) email address.

  Well, this might be more complicated. The blog appears to have been deleted. Writing WP staff an email would be the only option. And they might just say no…

  Deleted blogs stay deleted. They don’t dig up dead blogs and give the names to new people.

  You could use the domain name upgrade to use a name, like if your blogspot blog is myblog.blogspot.com and you want myblog.wordpress.com you could register myblog.com instead.

  I’m not sure what you mean by “retain the names of the blogs I have had for years” – that blog was created in January of this year.

  It was deleted by the owner. I have restored it.

  Tellyworth – I just deleted a blog because I wanted to register it under another username, but I seem to be unable to do so – it says that blog name already exists. Please advise? Thanks.

  oh god, wordpress can be annoying. still, i tried making a blog, it was deleted, still couldn’t get it, what the heck. i sometimes actually KNOW that wordpress needs some extended features.

  what about adding WTH! to the name of your ‘new’ blog!!
