Wu Wei being squeezed on Firefox?

  • Unknown's avatar

I am using Wu Wei and viewing it via Firefox 3.6.7. I do not seem to be able to get the full width of the theme to be visible.

That is, the 3 column footer comes across as only 2 columns, and full width images seem to overlap the borders implied by the lines framing the posts. The theme appears full width using Safari or Chrome, however. Is this a Firefox matter, a theme matter, or my settings?

    Thanks!

    Hope this helps.

Hi, Timethief! That’s a cool tool. Thanks for the reference.

However, I think I am asking about something that occurs with the WuWei theme, totally unmodified by me. Or, to say it another way, is this latest version of Firefox, viewed on a Mac with Snow Leopard, unable to render the WuWei template the way it was intended to be viewed – with a 3-column footer, for example?

    Thanks!

    Hi There,

I checkout your site via Firefox 4.0b1 with windows vista and the site renders correctly is there by any chance you have your browser in zoom mode if so you can change the zoom level back to default by going to View → Zoom → Reset…

The latest stable release of Firefox is Stable 3.6.6 as of June 26, 2010. I set my blog to Wu Wei and viewed it in Firefox 3.6.6 and I couldn’t reproduce any of the problems you mentioned. Can you point us to a URL starting with http:// where we can see the problem happening?

    Hi, all!

First, thank you very much for the attention and help!

I have found this condition (2-column rendering of 3-column footers) not only in my own site – http://jimmeredith.wordpress.com/ – but also in Adam Greenfield’s – http://speedbird.wordpress.com. As with mine, his also renders correctly, with a 3 column footer, in other browsers. (He does not use images, so I am unsure whether the “overlap” might occur on his, as well.)

I’ve “reset” the zoom and tried other in and out settings as well as fullscreen views, but there is no change to the composition of the page in Firefox.

    As always, thanks very much!

    thesacredpath –

Interesting, that your test blog renders correctly for me, also, in Firefox. Does this point to an issue in a version of the Wu Wei template? Is there something in the widgets I’ve chosen that is allowing a slightly wider column, therefore causing the 3rd column to fall under the second column rather than slide into its own 3rd column space?

    Ummm—

    Never mind.

Something I tweeked, maybe the zoom iterations, made all the sites we’ve been discussing suddenly fall into place.

Thanks for the help…and the apparent resolution!

I was thinking it might be the zoom. It could have been that you need to force refresh that page, or perhaps even clear the cache after the setting change.

    Anyway, glad it is resolved.
