Hi,
What happens when you left click on an image in a post or page depends upon
1) the file size of the image
2) the “Link to” settings at Image Details > Display Settings. The options are typically Media File, Attachment Page, Custom URL, or None. The cat image at http://oakbaystarfish.com/2015/11/17/no-credible-threat/ appears to have the “Link to” setting “None” applied.
The images in the following two posts appear to have the setting “Link to media file.” However, the image in the post “Militarized Sporting Events” doesn’t expand, because the file size is the same as (or very close to) the displayed size, while the image in “14 Years Past 911” expands very noticeably because the file size is considerably larger than the displayed size.

You use the phrase “header image.” Despite this, in the above explanation I presumed that the image in the post http://oakbaystarfish.com/2015/11/17/no-credible-threat/ is inserted in the post. Is it in the page content, or a featured image?

Thanks for your response-
Not sure where to go to change link to setting or post content setting.
A different user interface was present when I created the new page this morning.
The old user interface (available yesterday) never presented a problem in this area.

See the Attachment Display Settings section of the Image Settings support page.

Are you now using the post editor with the baby blue background? If so, then I don’t know how to edit media in that editor. Just tried, and didn’t find any link to image settings. You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.

Okay. I was unable to find a link to switch back to the old editor once I allowed the new editor to open. Normally, I never see that editor. It’s easy to permanently set posts to open to the classic editor. This is accomplished via an automatic redirect forced by a user script inserted in a browser add-on. It’s been working splendidly on my site for about eight months. See the following pages:

Staff might be able to explain why you suddenly got hijacked to the new editor, and how to edit media there, if it’s possible.

Hello @yeomalt –
Well, first of all, you didn’t get “hijacked” to the new editor. :) Everyone using WordPress.com was upgraded yesterday.
That said, you can still access the old editor by placing /wp-admin/ after your site address, like this:
yeomalt.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
While some of the image editing in the new editor has been streamlined, you can access the old tools above.
