  Does WordPress log traffic or is a 3rd party api required like Google Analytics?

  I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

  Hi there,

  We can’t help directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed business hosting. As a result we don’t have the ability to take a closer look at your site.

  Instead your host (GoDaddy) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com. Specifically we offer a pre-installed stats package on WordPress.com sites, but I am not sure that GoDaddy offers stats automtically. You will need to contact their support department to confirm if they add stats to WordPress sites they host directly.

  If you do not have stats but would like to add them, you may want to consider our Jetpack plugin, which is free and can be added to any WordPress site with another host.

  It offers the same built in stats and functionality all WordPress.com sites have by defaults. It’s a nice easy way to add stats to your site, and unlike more complicated/professional tools like Google Analytics, it’s much more user friendly and easy to understand.
