'www' disappearing
-
My website is http://www.missionms.me but when I type this in and go to it, the www disappears and it just becomes http://missionms.me. This has affected people trying to find the site using Google. When they enter http://www.missionms.me another website with a similar name comes up. When missionms.me is entered in Google, my site comes up first. I have looked at YouTube and online tutorials and in one it shows that under ‘Reading’ you can just change the name and add in the ‘www’ but this seems to have changed now. I have looked under every heading but can’t work it out. I am going cock-eyed now! Help!

Hi there – Your domain, http://www.missionms.me, will always be redirected to missionms.me, so you can feel free to use either version on your business cards or elsewhere.
Redirecting the first version of your URL to the second version helps to ensure that search engines index your site properly.
When I Google http://www.missionms.me your site is the first result.

Hi Eurello,
Many thanks for your reply.
I am, however, still a little confused. I still don’t understand why my domain will always be redirected to missionms.me – most websites don’t seem to redirect to a url without ‘www’. -
Hi there – It’s actually for your convenience; there’s some detailed explanation about it in this forum thread.

Great, I’ve had a look at that thread and have a better understanding now. Many thanks for that.
