www. disappears when entering site
-
Hi everybody,
I registred the domainname http://www.basgaatvliegen.nl at a third party. I edited the nameservers to the nameservers from WordPress, so the domainname refers to WordPress. All fine and working. But now, when I enter http://www.bastgaatvliegen.nl, www. disappears in the adress bar, so the adress states as basgaatvliegen.nl or http://basgaatvliegen.nl. In my opinion that’s ugly. I tried to make DNS records in the WordPress domainname section at my dashboard, but it didn’t solve the problem.
Does anyone know how I’m able to fix this problem? Since I changed the nameserver to WordPress, I’m not able anymore to edit DNS settings at my domainname provider. So the adjustment has to be made at WordPress.
Thanks in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. Mapping the “www” subdomain is not supported. BTW you may ask your visitors to visit http://www.yourblog.url which will automatically redirect to yourblog.url

That is just the way the web now works and WordPress.COM works – the “www” is depreciated and on they way to join dinosaurs

Hm, great. Thanks for your replies. So I only can ‘solve’ the problem by hosting the blog at a seperate hosting provider (and using their software) instead only a referal to WordPress?
