'Www' in a WordPress custom domain

How to have the ‘www’ in front of the custom domain I registered through WordPress?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

i know it doesn’t matter but just thought it’d be nice to have.
Also asking as some wordpress blogs have it and some don’t… -
www is old internet – WordPress.COM strips out the www so you are ahead of many sites – if you have a WordPress.ORG install on your own host you can add back the www

We actually strip out the www. for your convenience, and http://www.writerintheforest.com/ will always redirect to http://writerintheforest.com/
www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.
These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.
