The website named above was being hosted and managed by Nuvolat Cloud services under contract with me. They recently filed for bankruptcy and went out of business. The site was written in wordpress and the domain owned by me is registered with godaddy. Is there anyway that I can retrieve the website files so that I can host the site elsewhere and or manage it on my own? Any help with this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Hello John!
Those are unfortunate circumstances. If you have a backup, can make a backup or if the web hosting company can provide a backup, those are your best prospects for having something that can travel to another installation of WordPress at another hosting company.
Given that your hosting and version of WordPress is different than what we support in this forum, I want to suggest that you ask for advice in the WordPress.org support forums. It’s a forum similar to this that specializes in the open source version of WordPress that you were/are using for your site.

If you didn’t keep your own backups of the site, and the hosting provider can no longer provide you with a backup of the site from their end, I’m afraid there’s no way to recover the site’s files.
However, you might be able to recover at least some of the content from the site: I checked and the Internet Archive has some snapshots of the site. The most recent one is from June 2019, so it’s likely not up to date, but it’s better than nothing.
