www not showing as part of the URL

  I just mapped the domain gadoliniumtoxicity.com. It seems to be working. But when I enter http://www.gadoliniumtoxicity.com the URL comes up without the www. it is just gadoliniumtoxicity.com.

  While I understand it is working, it does not look right. is there something I have failed to do or done wrong. I really want the www. to show.

  Hi Duke,

  WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. Your domain, http://www.gadoliniumtoxicity.com, will always be redirected to http://gadoliniumtoxicity.com, so you can feel free to use either version when you give out your site’s address.

  Redirecting the first version of your URL (with the “www”) to the second version (without the “www”) helps to ensure that search engines index your site properly.
