WWW not showing on my purchase domain

  I purchased a domain. But I noticed it not accept www. when i put http://www.mydomain.com it goes to mydomain.com, rest of things are ok.
  I changed the DNS record like the follwoing

  CNAME www mydomain.com.

  But it still not working.

  any suggestion.?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  WordPress.com, like many sites, now redirects the “.www” to the base domain. It is considered bad practice to have http://www.something.com and something.com pointing to differnt sites, as some browsers will try the other if one is unavailable – meaning you could end up at the wrong site. WordPress.com just prevents you from this bad practice
