"www" prefix not working for webpage
-
Hello,
When I enter http://www.timsivak.com into the address bar, my website doesn’t work. But, when I enter timsivak.com, it works. Does anybody know of any solutions to this problem?
I’m planning on making some business cards with my website, and I would like to set it up so my website is accessible whether the prefix “www” is included, or not.
I think that many people still have the tendency enter the www prefix.
Thanks,

WordPress.com should automatically handle the redirection from www to non-www version for all WordPress.com sites.
Your site seems to be affected, and I am not sure why. https://timsivak.com works, but https://www.timsivak.com does not as you say.
I have added a tag “modlook” to this topic. One of the members from the WordPress.com staff/WordPress.com Happiness Engineers should be able to help you with this.

Hi Tim –
strikebuys is correct. The www and non-www version of the domain should work. I’ll take a look to see what is going on and report back. Hang tight.

Hi Tim –
The issue here is the text record that got added to the domain.
I’ve removed that text record and now the www version of timsivak.com redirects properly. Please give that a try and verify that you’re able to see that as well.
