  Is it possible to change my blog url from htpp://blogname.wordpress.com to http://www.blogname.com?

  They’re working on it.

  You are of course free to grab the WordPress software and find a host. That way you have complete control over your blog as well as the ability to use your own domain name.

  But doesn’t doing that make it like starting all over again on search engines and you start over with pagerank?

  Pretty much.

  Another reason why I don’t like the domain masking that patroitblog does since he’s basically spliting the pagerank and visability between his domain name and his WP.com account name.

  The think is with his setup since he does a frame, he still has the Page Rank and links generated with what’s already there. I don’t think he’ll take that much of a hit. Unless staff makes it that you can no longer access the blog in question with the old wp.com address.
