Www won't appear before domain name
-
Hello,
I just directed my wordpress page to my registered domain name, but even if I add the www it won’t display in the address bar. Can anyone help me wittt this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Your blog correctly redirects from http://www.muratbatmaz.com/ to http://muratbatmaz.com/
WordPress.com actually strips out the www. for your convenience, and http://www.muratbatmaz.com/ will always redirect to http://muratbatmaz.com/
www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.
These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.

But most redirected sites I visit have the www in the line, and it seems to work fine for them. Is there a way I can make it appear on mine as well?
-
No you cannot make it appear. However, anyone who enters the http://www.muratbatmaz.com/ will be seamlessly redirected to http://muratbatmaz.com/

I understand but why does my friend who also used godaddy to link to his wordpress have his address as, say, http://www.example.com when mine has been omitted?
-
How come others who linked to a godaddy domain name not lose the “www” while mine won’t show?
-
WordPress.COM hosted blogs and WordPress.ORG installs are separate and different. http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ What I posted is correct.

Thanks! So are you saying that my friend is using ORG and writing his own codes and hence gets to display the address as he pleases whereas I will never get to alter the way the address looks?
