Xanga Import

  I attempted to import 3 XML files from my Xanga blog to my WordPress blog. I imported them one at a time, waiting until I received the email that it was successful before doing the next one. However, I don’t see the imported posts anywhere on my blog. Could anyone please provide some insight into why this is occurring?

  Hi Chloe,

  Can you please try again, but this time when you go to Tools > Import please select “WordPress” instead of “Xanga” to do the import. Sometimes that works when the Xanga importer runs into trouble. Please let me know how that goes!

  Thanks valentine and rachelmcr! I tried choosing “WordPress” to execute the import, and I had the same issue. After receiving the “import successful” email, I still can’t find the imported posts anywhere on my site. If you have any other advice, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  Hi Chloe,

  I checked your site, and it looks like you only imported the first file from Xanga. That file usually only contains overall information about your Xanga site (like the site’s title) but not any of the site’s posts or pages. Those are in the other export files from Xanga. Can you please go ahead and import the other Xanga files the same way (choosing “WordPress” for the import) and see how that goes?
