xanga importing?

  I’ve tried to download and import my Xanga archive, carefully following the instructions and wordpress continually tells me that what I have downloaded is not an xml file, when on my computer it states that it is an xml file. Please help.

  Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually before your import will show up on WordPress.com. http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

  I have updated my browser, and followed the steps meticulously. I can see the xml files on my computer, but when I select them to import individually, WordPress tells me that it is not an xml file, still. Please provide further assistance. :)
