XML export – syntax error

  Hello,

  I posted this error message previously but the suggested quick fix (Notepad) didn’t work and then no more help :-( although I posted that the problem persists.

  I used the Tools -> Export function. When trying to open the XML file I get the following error:
  “undeclared XML namespace prefix used in attribute name” (with line 59 highlighted)

  What can I do to fix this?

  I would like to send the posts to a friend so that he can check my translations, but that would have to be as a Word or Firefox so that the Chinese Unicode content is shown formatted. Word and Firefox can’t import the file because of the error.

  I installed Notepad, the exported XML file opens without problems. I saved the file in HTML, but that file opens as a long, unformatted string of text without readable Chinese.

  A WordPress.com backup XML file is meant to be opened with an importer script, not with a program like Microsoft Word or a browser like Firefox. If your friend can import the file into another WordPress blog, then they could read it that way. Or, you might consider giving your friend Editor access to use to login and review your posts. Post revisions are saved, so you could revert changes if you needed to for any reason.
