XML Feed Help
-
Hello,
A local website offered to pick up my blog posts, but they have a request, and I don’t know how to resolve it. Here’s what they wrote – “The only thing we ask of our bloggers is to allow us the entire text of each blog posting – right now your XML feed truncates the story a few hundred characters in. Can you remove that?” If anyone can help I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We do not have XML feeds. We can create XML files by using the import/export function under Tools in our dashboards, but I believe you may be referring to RSS feeds.
If so, then what they are asking for is for you to create duplicate content and doing that can get your blog penalized by Google. Search engines aim to provide those who use them with the most relevant results and when one is faced with a slew of links to duplicated content by various sites attempting to game search engine results this destroys the effective use of search engines. Here are links to important information on creating duplicate content:
Don’t create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.

For each article in a feed, show
___Full text
___Summary
“Save Changes”I have my RSS feeds set to “summary” to prevent content theft as I tracing content thieves and getting my content removed from their sites has been a HUGE time suck. I strongly counsel you to think twice about doing what the “local website” people are suggesting as creating duplicate content is NOT the way to go.
