I took a look at your site, and I don’t see the missing featured images you mentioned. Are they still missing for you? (It may have just taken some time for them all to be imported.)
I checked your export files and the featured images are there, so if you continue to have trouble with them you may want to check in the WordPress.org forums for more tips on fixing that up.
also missing 100 posts but thats not as important
If you can let me know what posts are missing, I’d be happy to help you track those down! You also may want to check the trash (under Posts > All Posts) to see if those posts are in the trash there. (If a post is still on your site, even in the trash, the importer won’t import a new version of it.)

Yea most of them are still gone. When I go to media files they appear to have a file there but they show that little no image found icon. For example all of the interview featured images (except one that I uploaded): http://69.195.124.213/~jessewhe/electroniccurrent/interviews/
As far as the posts, I don’t know how to tell which 100 are missing? I just looked at the count. On my old site its says 1722 published, on this one 1602 (although i did just delete 30)

Hi Jesse,
Since as you mentioned the media files are all there, you may need to edit the posts to re-add the featured images to the posts that are missing them. You might also want to check in the WordPress.org forums for additional tips and help with that process.

Did you have any posts in the trash when you did the import?

1 – The media files are still linked under featured image, the issue is that the image file hasn’t loaded for some reason. Is there a way for me to delete all the media files and reupload an xml with just those? It’s true for thousands of images theres no way i could do it one by one. It’s an issue with the transfer.
2 – Maybe but that wouldn’t effect the number of published posts. about 100 posts that were published in the original were gone in the new one. The images are more important though

Hi Jesse,
The images are linked to the posts and pages themselves, rather than being something that’s exported or imported separately. If you’d like to retry the import, you’ll need to delete all of the posts with the missing images and reimport them. (You can use the same export files for that, and the importer will skip any posts that you didn’t delete so you won’t get duplicates.)
You may also want to contact your hosting company to find out if the import is hitting a memory limit on their end. In that case, your host may be able to lift that limit or help you with the import to make sure the process goes smoothly. (WordPress.org has a support page about Importing Content with a bit more detail about that.)

I tried re-doing again its the same problem. And I already went through bluehost support twice and its not the memory limit. I checked out that link too.
The issue is that the images don’t exist on my new site. For example one of my posts has a little no image font icon under featured image that links to this image: http://69.195.124.213/~jessewhe/electroniccurrent/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/just-a-gent.jpg
Which as you can see doesn’t exist. I can also find the image under my media files, but once again I get an image not found. So the posts themselves are properly linking in images, the issue is that the images themselves haven’t been imported. I don’t really understand how the posts can come in fine, but the images don’t.

Hi Jesse,
Unfortunately, WordPress.com support staff don’t have the tools and access to do further troubleshooting on imports to a self-hosted site. Everything is included in your export file from WordPress.com, so it sounds like something is going a bit sideways in the import process. In that case, the WordPress.org forums are the best place to get further help with your self-hosted site.
