XML Import from wordpress.org to wordpress.com did not bring in media/images

  Hi. I had a self-hosted website on wordpress.org through GoDaddy. I exported a complete XML file from that and imported it into a new wordpress.com website a couple of days ago. All the posts, pages, categories, tags, etc. came in fine. But, none of the media library stuff came through. So, all my posts and pages are now image-less.

  I have scanned the XML file and I can see the names of all the image files in it.

  I have about 500+ posts and want to avoid having to go into each one to re-upload all images manually. I do also have a backup of my wp-content folder from my GoDaddy hosting FTP folders.

  Is there a way to bring all the media files efficiently rather than manually?
