.xml import not displaying

Hello. I have followed all of the steps on the import support page regarding importing my .xml file from one WordPress site to another. Unfortunately, the new site doesn’t seem to be displaying anything but the default template.

Further to that, I noticed your blog is currently protected – if you would like to make it public, I could take a look and let you know if anything was imported successfully – let me know if that’s the case and I’ll jump in to look. Sometimes the theme might look “empty” because some things import via the importer, and some things don’t. You should expect posts and pages to import for example, but things like images and front page setup might need to be done manually.

I could be wrong but I believe the import process only includes the content from the website like posts, comments, pages, categories, etc. You may still need to choose a theme to give your content a certain style. Check this link on exporting .xml files as well. -

As shaunfelicien mentioned, it’s only possible to import posts, pages, comments, categories, tags, and references to your site’s images. The theme itself will not be imported so you will need to choose one from our Theme Showcase:
