Hello again. I recall answering your first thread. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/xml-rpc-and-wordpress-settings?replies=2#post-615470
Is this in reference to windows live writer? I’m asking because others have recently had issues with it.
How are you accessing the internet and WordPress.com?
Which browser and version of it are you using? And have you tried these troubleshooting techniques? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/
If your browser is not the latest version you can upgrade it here http://browsehappy.com
-
Assuming that you want to use an offline editor, did you have a look at this support doc? http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/
-
-
If you are referring to windows live writer there is a configuration guide here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/windows-live-writer/
-
The browser i’m using is google chrome. and im not referring to windows live writer.
but im looking for the info that says “remote publishing” which also contains the box that you check to enable the XML-RPC, but it doesn’t show. -
How are you accessing the internet and WordPress.com?
Are you using Chrome 11 or Chrome 13? Chrome 11 is the stable version. If you are using 13 which is in development then please try using Chrome 11.
-
I’m not sure if it’s the 11 or 13. But most probably the 11 because 13 is still in development. But anyway, I went to google and found an info about the XML-RPC settings. I still could not figure out why I cannot find the Remote Publishing section where you can also see the box that you check to enable it. Go to this URL:

talking about. -
@bokybaby
The link you posted is to instructions for a WordPress.org install. You have a WordPress.com free hosted blog. They are different.On that page Settings ? Wiring in a free hosted WordPress.com blog like yours we find this:
Post by Email
You can publish posts using emails with the Post by Email feature. http://support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/ To enable this visit your My Blogs page and create a secret address.http://bokybaby.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogsNowhere in this exchange do I see that you have stated “I want to post by email. “
Is that what you want to do or not? -
-
Ok, I didn’t know. so I would have had gotten a wordpress.org. not a .com. So, can I still
sign up for a wordpress.org account while having a .com at the same time?
Is there an instruction to install a wordpress.org account?Pls. direct me.
Thanks.

XML-RPC is on by default for all wordpress.COM blogs. There is no turning it on or off, it is always on.
-
-
Previously you said:”and im not referring to windows live writer.”
So what is it that you want to do?
-
Other than enable XML-RPC, which tt has already advised is always “on” on our WordPress.com blogs, I still don’t understand what it is you are expecting to do with it.
You also mentioned above

that you want to self-host your own WordPress.org install, so again, it is not clear to me what it is you are trying to do. Perhaps reading this support document will help you understand better the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org and therefore help us in understanding what it is you want to do:

Wow! And I thought I was the only one! I am having the same problem, and No, XML-RPC is NOT always on. I can’t even add it to the end of a URL here. What we expect to be able to do with it is remote publishing. The end of the blog URL would be:
xxxxxx.com/xmlrpc.php In a training video the box to check off was clearly under “settings->writing”
Without this my program will not function.

@rueann42
Just a note to let you know that bokybaby has emptied his/her wordpress.com blog of its former content and moved on since he/she became aware that he/she could not direct traffic from your wordpress.COM blog to an existing website, and there was no way to run advertisements in a WordPress.COM blog. -
@timethief
I am surprised about your comments of 6/10 re bokybaby. Does that mean that if I place a website address on my blog that it will not open? What about this advertisements thing? I did find out that I cannot add a “/” mark in the URL. The WordPress program will not take it despite all I have read. This is your former comment:” XML-RPC is on by default for all wordpress.COM blogs. There is no turning it on or off, it is always on.”
The program I am trying to use is Mass Traffic Accelerator, and the training video shows the box to check under “settings -> writing.” So MTA should be able to place things on my blog? Thank you for your help. -
Mass Traffic Accelerator is an affiliate marketing course. In a nutshell no blogger initiated advertising, retailing or reselling the work created or services provided by anyone other than yourself is allowed on free hosted wordpress.COM blogs. E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM
The advertising exceptions noted in support documentation are for high traffic blogs that qualify for and are accepted into the Ad Control program, and for extremely high traffic blogs that qualify and are accepted into the paid VIP hosting program.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/The exceptions noted in support documentation with regard to affiliate links are found here:
Affiliate marketing blogs: Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes. To be clear, people writing their own original book, movie or game reviews and linking them to Amazon, or people linking to their own products on Etsy do NOT fall into this category. http://en.wordpress.com/types-of-blogs/
