xml_rpc-32601 error w/Jetpack

When I try and “connect” Jetpack to WordPress, i get the following error:

“Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32601 – Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. If you have the W3 Total Cache plugin installed, deactivate W3 Total Cache, try to Connect to WordPress.com again, reactivate W3 Total Cache, then clear W3 Total Cache’s cache.”

I do not have the W3 Total Cache plugin (or any caching plugin for that matter) and am hosted at Crocweb.com

And this is the latest version (1.1.3) of Jetpack, and the older thread which has you editing the jetpack.php file is no longer applicable as the code has changed since. (This should go to show you I did a forum/support search for this issue).

  • Can you please ask your hosting provider if they’re blocking access to xmlrpc.php?
