XML_RPC glitch!

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there

I’ve just installed Jetpack on a new server and got this message:

“Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32700
Try connecting again. Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make sure http://casaztop.com.br/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.

but the xmlrpc.php shows exactly the message. it’s a fresh WP installation on PHP 5.3.6.

Any clues on what can be going wrong? Thanks a lot!

  • Two things to check:

    1. Do you have the same trouble with all other plugins disabled?

    2. Does your hosting provider block XML-RPC for “security reasons”? You might need to ask them. To clarify, there are absolutely no security issues with WordPress through XML-RPC, that just seems to be a practice by some hosting providers and their common explanation. Of course, if they do block this, Jetpack won’t work.

    1) yes, with plugins disabled and twenty-ten enabled
    2) I’ll check with them. we had some other problems with Akismet and W3 Total Cache, so this really might be the cause. thanks a lot!

  • You’re welcome!
