xmlrpc Error Verifying Site for Gravatar
-
Hi,
I tried to connect (or verify) my site in Gravatar. I put in the url, username and password, but it returned
“Failed to locate XML-RPC API
Something went wrong when trying to locate the XML-RPC API on your blog. Please log into your WordPress admin panel, then go to Settings > Writing > Remote Publishing and check the box next to ‘Enable the WordPress, Movable Type, MetaWeblog and Blogger XML-RPC publishing protocols.’I followed those instructions, but there is no “remote publishing” section in Settings> Writing. So I searched around and found that wp.com has xmlrpc on by default. I sent my browser to http://directsponsor.wordpress.com/xmlrpc.php and got “XML-RPC server accepts POST requests only.” so it seems to be listening, at least…
Anyway, how can I make sure it’s actually working properly? I know if I ask gravatar they’ll refer me back to WP unless I’ve found there’s definitely nothing wrong at this end.
Thanks for any help,

Correction, the error I got when putting in http://directsponsor.org/ was:
No blogs found
Either your WordPress blog is not responding, or it’s not listing any blogs against the account details you entered. Please check that the username/password you entered are for an account which is associated with at least one blog. The error quoted in my original post was what I got when I entered http://directsponsor.org/xmlrpc.php
Either way, it wasn’t getting what it wanted.
Sorry bout that!
Andy -
ok sorry again, not directsponsor.org, http://directsponsor.wordpress.com/
I’m getting beyond typing, must sleep.
