Yahoo has viruses, worms, and malware.

I didn’t know where else to ask and wanted to see if anyone had any solutions.
So this past week has been nothing but computer problems. Uninstalling and downloading and reinstalling a dozen or so times and it’s all due to the new AVG 8. So now I have Avast Anti-Virus which has gotten good reviews. I was about just this second to check my emails at Yahoo and this virus warning pops up with an alarm ringing and a man’s voice says “Caution, a virus has been detected”. So Yahoo had malware all this time and I never knew. At least with AVG I never knew and I could get my emails in peace. But now I do, it’s driving me nuts that Yahoo OF ALL PLACES has viruses and worms. But they won’t let me into Yahoo and there’s no way around it. Do I have to uninstall Avast to get to my email account? Does anyone else have Avast and use Yahoo?
I also cleared cookies, history and cache. The browser I’m using is Firefox 2.0.0.14.

I don’t think this is the right place to ask – perhaps Avast or Yahoo support can help.
Any email account will receive viruses from time to time. I don’t see why Yahoo would be any different.

I wanted to see if I could get a quick reply from here because I can’t get into Yahoo.com at all to even find out their support email that I would have to email from one of my old either Hotmail or Netscape email accounts. And I just got Avast and don’t know how long an email reply from them would be. Most places takes weeks to get an actual person to email back.

The few times I had to contact Yahoo support I had quick replies – 12 to 24 hours. I don’t recall the email addy but I think it’s the logical one: support at yahoo dot com.
Worth a try.

I was just getting searches to my blog for Yahoo virus and Yahoo Avast. Found an Avast forum because of it! And others, not just me thank goodness, are having the same problem and it was a false positive and will be fixed when Avast updates.
Was just nervous and wanted to see if anyone here was having a problem too. Thanks everyone!

I have Avast (and other protections…for those who maybe reading hehe).
If you are using Windows go into your task manager and you can shut off Avast temporarily.
send your E-mail, then reboot.
