Yet another oldest-first request
-
I realize that WordPress.com is adamantly opposed to the idea of oldest-first posts, and I agree with them for the main blog page. But I would really like for category index pages to have the option of being oldest-first. That way people who want to see the latest stuff can use the RSS feed or go to the home page in the manner that WordPress.com is the only legitimate way to read a blog, but people who want to read a story through from beginning to end can go to the category page and easily start from the beginning (instead of having to scroll and click their way awkwardly backwards).
I realize that I can manually create index pages and update them when I add new posts, but this is exactly the sort of task that computers are good at and humans are bad at. Why is WordPress.com so adamantly opposed to oldest-first in any manifestation?

My guess is that it would not be used much – there is a Plug-in over at WordPress.ORG that reversed things and it is not used much judging from the download stats when I used it on one of my .ORG installs.
